On these unique 4 days, double gorilla tracking (Rwanda-Uganda) encounter, you can expect to see mountain gorillas in volcanoes and Bwindi Impenetrable National parks. You will have a chance to interact with these great apes, immerse yourself in the local traditions and customs during your visit to these two countries.

DETAILED ITINERARY

DAY 1: KIGALI CITY TOUR AND TRANSFER TO VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK

Pick up from your hotel in Kigali and start your adventure with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial to learn about Rwanda and its evolution to one of the fastest growing economies on the African continent. Depart from Kigali for a scenic road trip to volcanoes national park in the Virunga mountains. The journey takes about 4 hours, offering picturesque views of the Virunga mountains. Check into your lodge for a delicious dinner and rest for an exciting day of gorilla tracking the next day.

DAY 2: GORILLA TRACKING IN VOLCANOES AND TRANSFER TO BWINDI

After an early breakfast, we drive to the visitor center to attend gorilla tracking briefing session. Once you have been allocated a gorilla family, you will be accompanied by experienced trackers to this tropical rainforest. Once gorillas have been located, you will spend a magical hour observing them up close. Enjoy late transfer to the boarder of Uganda where you will continue to drive to Bwindi for your second gorilla tracking. Dinner and overnight at your lodge

DAY 3: GORILLA TRACKING IN BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST

After your early breakfast (7:00am), you will have a short drive to UWA briefing center where you will be taken through the do’s and don’ts while tracking gorillas. After you have been allocated a gorilla family in a group of 8 pax, you will be led by the armed ranger guides off to the forest to search for gorillas. When gorillas have been located, you will have one full hour viewing them as they go on with their daily lives at a distance of 7-10 meters. After gorilla tracking, we drive to Lake Bunyonyi for a night on the terraces of lake Bunyonyi. Dinner and Overnight.

DAY 4: TRANSFER FROM BUNYONYI TO KIGALI

After a relaxed morning with optional lodge activities on the lake, we will depart Bunyonyi to Kigali for your international flight. End of our 4 days’ double gorilla tracking (Rwanda-Uganda).
